Tell about your first comics here. Supply an image if you have it.
My first comic was hand-drawn. It took a pre-existing comic, and made it better. The comic was an SPPf comic written by Ziggo called The Unreal Card Tournament, about 16 VG characters competing in a Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament, but with Pokémon as the cards. The concept was genius, but after about 9 comics (none of which had duels) the comic stopped. I tried doing what it should have done. I probably put over 400 panels into it, but I lost it in the end.
My second comic was a Pokémon Journey comic, about the adventures of Red, Green, and Blue. Unlike most journeys, which focus on plot, this one focused on jokes. It made fun of the pokemon games. (i.e. Why do I need to buy a map? Why not rip mine off of my wall?) I tried picking it up again and starting from scratch as a sprite comic, but I cannot sprite for my life.
The third comic idea I had was never brought to light. It was about a kid playing Super Mario 64. He loses, gets frustrated, and shakes the game in rage. Mario and Luigi fall out of the game itself. The kid sees them and tries to capture them. He captures Luigi, but Mario escapes and hides in the kid's toybox. To save Luigi, Mario had to go into other video games in the toybox to find other N64 heroes to help fight against the kid.
I do not have images for any of these, but meh.
What were your first comic experiences like?

I think it was probably something that I doodled when I was really little.
My first real sprite comic was a small thing, though: I think that it got to about ten episodes, involved mostly other peoples' sprites (though i made up a couple poor ones myself) and borrowed heavily from MC and other webbies. It wasn't very good, honestly, and fizzled and died quick.
The only other time I can remember trying to do a comic was rebooting the old one, and though I thought things through MUCH better, had decent, custom-sprites and my expertise had much improved, it gathered no interest and also died out.
I think that you can search and find at least the more recent one on SPPF, but I'm not going to dig it out, sorry.

I'd done absolutely nothing, comic-wise, other than read Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes, before I began Reporterz. Admittedly I spent some time making sprite mixes and recolors in the vein of Wisest Pikachu, but that doesn't seem to have helped me much in the beginning, now that I look back on it. Though it did lead to Zard and Madoom. I made the first twenty or so Reporterz comics in August, and then was promptly too scared to post them. (This was around the time WP had about thirty comics at most, and Outlaw and Gundam Remake were just starting theirs.) This turned out to be a good thing, because in the meantime I hit on the idea of a Pokémon/Mega Man mix, and adjusted the twenty comics to fit into that style, and made other cosmetic tweaks. You've seen the original first comic on the website. Now imagine that comic with the Gabby and Ty sprites from the actual game, ugly borders, and saved in .JPEG, and you'll get an idea of my skill as a beginner. Even with the comics tweaked slightly and .PNGed, I'm amazed that the reception I got for those first few comics was so positive. Glad, though, obviously, as it led to my continuing, and creating all this intelligent, interesting stuff.

Seriously? Reporterz was your first?
d**n, you did good.
I've been following Reporterz since comic 100 or so, and it was good even then.
My bro got in just after #400, though, so he isn't as long-term of a fan as I am.
Quite frankly, in my opinion, Reporterz is the last good comic on Serebii.

(Sorry for the bit of topic revival)
D': No! My ego!
My first comic was actually Pokemon-based, in which a bunch of unmotivated jerks go on a journey together. The main villain was Eggman, who was going to have robotic fossil Pokemon and eventually capture Palkia and Dialga(I thought I was so special at the time because I was doing this back when they were first announced and no one had ever used them. Two of the main characters also got a Turtwig and Chimchar.) I ripped off so many jokes and sprites that I was surprised no one yelled at me. And the comic "format?" I uploaded mismatched panels as separate images and pasted them on a Freewebs site. On the plus side, some of my overworld sprites were really nice for the time.
