All, right. Answer time.
I knew this was going to be impossibly hard because some of these depictions only make sense to me, and the rest are so impossibly obscure that only I remember them. XD
Oh, and first of all, ERGH! I forgot Abraace! I knew I was going to forget someone, and I forgot Ace! Blast. If I had depicted Ace, I probably would have integrated an Abra into it somehow. Sorry, Ace. In my defense, I think of him as part of the modern era and I was focusing especially on the early days. I might be able to work him in as a cameo later...*ponders*
Now, here for your enjoyment is the complete breakdown, with handy supplementary information!
Green-Brown = Davis. I remember Davis as part of the middle era of comic-making. He had several comics (one of which had Wario and Waluigi as characters, if I remember correctly.) I remember particularly his firey personality and his dedication to providing intensive critique. He left the forum after a debate over the role of criticism with Blueguy.
His design is based largely on his personality. I depicted him as a tall, tough-looking guy. (With spiked shoulder pads!) Green-brown is the color I associate with him, for whatever reason.
Blue = Blueguy. Well, I could hardly pass up the chance to make Blueguy blue, could I? Blueguy created the snarky, edgy strip Pokéchow, which attracted positive and negative feedback alike. One thing I'll say about Pokéchow: the spriting is superb, and Blueguy never stopped looking for ways to improve his work.
He's just recently reappeared and brought Pokéchow back--check him out
here.Blueguy's design is, first off, blue. Second off, I gave him Pidgeot wings after the character he's most frequently known for, the Murderous Pidgeot. It's not quite how Blueguy depicts himself, but I like it.
Red = SpongeMonkeyz. Ah, man. What a guy. His greatest work, in my opinion, was probably the Duskypuff Chronicles, depicting a Jigglypuff as the Grim Reaper, though he made many other excellent comics as well. His art style was very unique, full of colorful shapes that were comfortably blobby without looking at all ugly. I remember he became a very good spriter before long. His humor was zany and fantastic.
Sponge always depicted himself with huge glasses and extremely pointy hair. The glasses aren't obvious on the sprite, but the hair is. I chose wacky red for his color.
White = Goatman. Goatman was a close friend of Sponge's. I forget the name of his comics, but his highly pixelated style was innovative and lent itself to humor.
The design should be obvious as soon as you see the name. He's got a goat head.
Dark Blue = Blueray. Not to be confused with Blueguy. Another wacky middle-era comic-maker. Also the main proprietor of The Sprite Comics, an alliance of a forum which was around for a while, and home to many memories, including the origins of the Spamfics. He was one of those who had many different works over the years.
Design: He's also blue, but he always depicted himself as a darker color than 'Guy. I added a number of "rays" streaming off him like some sort of electromagnetic force. A blue ray, if you will.
Brown = Cousin Woofer. Oh man. Cuz. A brilliant artist with a cartoonist's flair, he provided us with one of our first hand-drawn works, The Oorelocks, which concerned a few misfits in Oore. I cannot shower this guy with enough praise. His writing, art, and humor were all brilliant.
Design: Because of the Oorelocks, I tried to make his hair look a bit like Wes's. It also makes him look like somebody's cousin. As for the tail and color, I derived them from the "Woofer" in his name.
Black = Infinity. I figured y'all might get this one; the Umbreon ears are pretty obvious. His comic (Of Love and Hax, was it? ) focused on Umbreon and Espeon Pokemorphs fighting for their place in the world. He quickly became a hand-drawn artist.
Design: Easy as heck. Infinity always depicted himself as an Umbreon Pokemorph, so I did the same.
Green = ExtremeGunner. Okay, so I have no idea how you were supposed to get this one. EG was around during the earliest, earliest days of the forum. I remember him because his Fusion Fighters comic was pretty good (it depicted a league of trainers abusing Pokemon fusion chips) and cameoed Snagger Outlaw and Gundam Remake as a couple. It was pretty awesome.
Design: As an ExtremeGunner, he needed to be a giant robot with lots of guns sticking out of him. So that's what I did. Plus I always thought of him as green.
Lightest Blue = Secret Mew, author of The Adventures of the Regi Trio. She was around in the earliest days, but kept making reappearances. Her work starred the Regi as bumbling heroes.
Design: Basically identical to her preferred appearance.
Yellow = Spi Jirachi. (If it had been Red I would have made it red.
I decided not to use any of you guys for this panel 'cause it felt like a conflict of interest.) Spi was around long enough ago to jokingly war with Wisest Pikachu. You can find it in WP's fanstuff. Spi's comic was much like WP's: the wacky adventures of a self-titled character.
Design: A Jirachi silhouette. Easy.
Purple = Pixilated Penguin. Now, granted, I don't remember if he had a comic or not, so he may not have been an Author, but I included him because he helped define my FanComics experience. i mainly remember him as a critic. A critic I often argued with, but who nevertheless respected my opinions, and helped me understand my work in new ways. He was a good guy. I missed him when he left the forum for mysterious reasons.
Design: It's nearly impossible to tell, but I truly endeavored to sprite a penguin with pixilated edges. Purple suggests itself due to the alliteration.
And that's the lot. Feel free to guess the remaining three, cut down to two by the following NEW COMIC:
